5 questions to Autodata

Interview of Maxime Lienard, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Autodata.

Can you briefly describe your activity?

Autodata is the leading provider of automotive technical information in France and across Europe. At EQUIP AUTO 2017, we will be demonstrating our industry leading online workshop tools that enable workshops to maintain and repair vehicles. We will also be showcasing our application programming interface (API), a solution that allows aftermarket businesses to embed Autodata's unrivalled technical information into their own bespoke solutions.

What are the main highlights / features planned for Equip Auto Paris 2017?

At EQUIP AUTO this year, Autodata will be showcasing our online workshops tools which provide workshops with the technical information they need to carry our servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repair accurately and efficiently. Over the course of this year, Autodata are launching several brand new features including our diagnostics assistant, as well as a range of new information modules.

What are the trends in your market?

As one of the leading providers of technical information globally, Autodata is identifying opportunities for our customers, as well as working on solutions to overcome the challenges that go along with new and emerging vehicle technology. We are beginning to see a rise in aftermarket businesses preparing for CAVs and AFVs by becoming connected.

Who are your current customers and what target groups would you like to reach?

Our customers range from independent workshops that carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repair of cars, vans and motorcycles, to remanufacturers that produce physical and digital tools for workshops. We would like to ensure that all workshops are working to a high industry standard by providing access to accurate and up-to-date technical information. We would like to build on our current customer relationships, while also developing new relationships with workshops that are still using inadequate technical information to service and repair vehicles. We are also looking forward to meeting with other industry innovators who are designing tools and solutions for the future.

What motivated your decision to exhibit at Equip Auto Paris 2017?

France has always been a significant market for Autodata. EQUIP AUTO Paris is a great opportunity to meet current and potential customers, it will enable us showcase and demonstrate our business solutions including our online workshop application and our API.
