EQUIP AUTO ALGERIA 2017: Increased attendance and an exceptional business atmosphere

EQUIP AUTO ALGERIA 2017, the internationally-renowned North African meeting for professionals working in all-vehicle aftersales and services, took place in a particularly positive atmosphere. From 27 February to 2 March 2017, 340 exhibitors from 19 countries came together with 9,820 trade visitors (+8% versus 2016), 4% of which from abroad, all out in force to discover the product ranges and new solutions of their suppliers!

This 11th edition of EQUIP AUTO ALGERIA was unmistakeably a highly successful event.

The show confirms its status as the leading event for aftersales professionals in North Africa, with the participation of 340 exhibitors spread over 12,000 sqm of exhibition space, and visitor attendance up by 8% compared with 2016, registering more than 9,800 visitors of which 4% from outside Algeria, mainly from North Africa and Southern Europe.

In the perspective of a changing automotive aftermarket in Algeria and in view of the stated ambitions of investors in industrial automotive subcontracting, EQUIP AUTO ALGERIA has asserted its status as a unique and imperative event for decision makers.

Once again this year, international participants came out in force, with more than 75% of exhibitors from abroad hailing from around twenty foreign countries. Together, they presented a comprehensive offering representing more than 400 leading automotive equipment brands. Some firms chose to exhibit within one of the five official national pavilions of China, Morocco, Poland, India and Turkey. Other exhibitors from Germany, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, the United States, Italy, Tunisia, etc., exhibited on their own individual stands.

This eleventh edition also witnessed a record participation level of Algerian companies, up 11% compared with 2016. This increase is largely due to the participation of a large number of Algerian manufacturers. Accounting for more than 10% of the total number of Algerian exhibitors, this figure confirms the clear support of economic operators for the new industrial policy in Algeria.

Several highlights featured during the 11th edition of EQUIP AUTO ALGERIA, with, on the one hand, a series of talks and presentations on the development of the automotive sector in Algeria (Aftermarket and subcontracting and Training in automotive jobs), and, on the other hand, the organisation of the first Club Argus Algérie, offering a presentation about the benefits of structuring the used vehicle market. These two events benefitted from the contributions of official institutions, public bodies and of renowned specialists and professionals. In addition to these activities, the CEPEX organised business meetings between Algerian and Tunisian firms to build partnerships in automotive subcontracting. More than twenty Tunisian companies took part in these.

The positive feedback received from both visitors and exhibitors provides proof of an exceptional business atmosphere over the four days of the event and the vitality of a market which continues to grow. A majority of pavilions and exhibitors have already expressed their intention to come back next year for the 12th edition of the exhibition, scheduled from 26 February to 1 March 2018
