Tristan Gommendy and his Oreca 7 at Equip Auto !

Finishing second at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2018, Tristan Gommendy had raised the colours of EQUIP AUTO. Extended this year, the partnership between the race driver and the after-sales biennial is also reflected in the aisles of the show. Go t0 the bottom of the stairs of Pavilion 1 to admire the Oreca 7 of Graff Racing and talk with the driver.

Why this partnership with a professional trade-show?

Precisely because we talk about Aftermarket, and auto parts. Stakeholders in the aftermarket are passionate people, people who have a very strong impct on the automobile and who, for the most part, follow automobile racing. So this partnership, begun last year, is very timely. And then our collaboration is in a very positive dynamic: the podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year, a 3rd place in the provisional classification of the European Championship - the last event  will take place on October 27, editor's note--, the Porte de Versailles show ...

What are you expecting from your appearance at the show?

The idea is to meet people, to communicate about this partnership between FIEV, EQUIP AUTO and me. Plus it gives me a privileged relationship with some companies, and an interesting B2B relationship. I think that my presence will undoubtedly allow me to more easily create an exchange with the general public, and also with the professionals. Because there is a real technical convergence between motor sport and the automobile industry. Finally, to some extent, we do the same job. The parts used in motor sport are the same as those used in the general public, even if we rather exploit the equipment to 110%!

Where do you get this passion for motor sport and for cars in general?

This passion was initiated by my father who, for my 9th birthday, took me to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It never left me and as I won my first races quickly, suddenly, I never coould consider my life differently. And my relationship with the automotive industry, I also had it thanks to my father who worked 20 years at General Motors and 10 years at Valeo ... The automobile has been a part of my life for a long time.
