GNFA: discovery by example

Faithful to EQUIP AUTO, the GNFA (National Automotive Training Group) will offer visitors this year the chance to immerse themselves in the new challenges of the sector through five themed workshops.

Installed in 2017 in Hall 1 of the Porte de Versailles, EQUIP AUTO's training-employment space is moving. This year, it will be based on the Pont des Expositions, a strategic location connecting Halls 1 and 2.2, thus ensuring optimal visibility to this ever popular place for visitors. In keeping with the automotive after-sales gathering, the GNFA will appear in the company of the Fiev and PV3e Laval association of Estaca.

An immersive experience

For this occasion, The National Automotive Training Group will present an immersive experience. To capture the new issues that excite the sector, five discovery workshops, of about 5 to 15 minutes each, are planned. The first, called "From zero ADAS to 100% autonomous", will address the mobility evolution issue. Using a virtual reality headset and screens, visitors will be able to drive on a country and a city road based on different scenarios.

On a different subject from the impact of ADAS on skills in the workshop, a presentation of the sensors and focus on workshop cameras (how to regulate them, their limits, etc.) will be offered. Connectivity will also be at the heart of the discussion with an animation detailing a connected light vehicle or heavy vehicle from all angles. A 3D presentation will also make it possible to understand this theme as well as the services that can be associated with it.

From the experts

Next we will come to two subjects related to bodywork. One workshop will focus on how to understand paint application techniques and measure the proper use of the gun (load, distance, etc.). Another will focus on the concept of 360 diagnosis with a set of questions and answers led by a trainer.

In addition, throughout the show the GNFA will organise miniconferences of experts about ADAS (radar, lidards), loss adjustor/costing relations (optimising relations), fast repair (UV primer, plastic repair, used vehicle renovation etc.) and multi-materials (changes and repair methods).
