The first half of 2019 was difficult for the European tyre market. According to data from the ETRMA (European Association of Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers), the light vehicle tyre segment, the main supplier of sales on the Continent, fell by 3.7% in the first six months. While the heavy-duty and two-wheel segments, in turn, have slightly corrected, the tyre sector is now directly impacted by the negative evolution of the global automotive market.
"The tyre market gives a good idea of the general economic situation, JudgeFazilet Cinaralp, Secretary General of ETRMA. The low sales of replacement tyres for passenger cars reflect the dynamics of new car registrations in the European Union, which also decreased in the first half (-3.1% according to ACEA, NDLR)". A trend also noted in France where, despite still very strong growth in sales of all-season tyres, the market lost ground in the first half.
A varied panel of exhibitors
In this context, EQUIP AUTO in October 2019 is a great opportunity to shine for all those who exhibit at the Porte de Versailles. Especially since the organisation has made tyres a key sector for this new edition and will specifically emphasise it. It will have an entirely dedicated space in Hall 3 while a conference organised by Pneumatique magazine will be held on Wednesday, October 16 (at 11am). The issues of the tyre as a loss leader product and customer loyalty will animate the debates.
In the aisles, there will be no shortage of specialists. All levels of the profession will be represented. These include Falken Tyre Europe and Davanti Tyres for manufacturers, Doumerc Pneu International, Deldo and Euro-Tyre for distributors, Pneumaclic and Gettygo for pureplayers, as well as Point S and Euromaster for auto-tyre centres. All these exhibitors will give meaning to this new space and will help revive the tyre in the heart of the great French gathering.
